Hilltop Jamaican Restaurant
Hilltop is my family’s very own Jamaican restaurant located in Southern California. The business has been in our family for 30+ years now and with the move to a bigger location I felt our website needed a makeover.
Problem:
Based on feedback from customers they were facing issues navigating the website such as:
Lack of visibility of the restaurant’s cuisine,
No details covering the services offered.
Unclear delivery online ordering location
Solution:
The new design I created was chosen to meet users with the same bright and welcoming energy Hilltop offers customers within the business.
I then highlight the delicious cuisine at Hilltop by including many visuals of meals served, while also showcasing that they are much more than your average Jamaican restaurant.
Each section of the website highlights a different aspect of the business for instance:
Brunch specials
Food delivery options
Catering services
Design Thinking
Straight away the landing page includes a glimpse of the many food selections the restaurant has to offer, catching the eye of new and loyal customers.
Swiftly second, users are given a few navigation options, one CTA at the center of the page and a few others at the top of the page. This leaves the user no confusion of where or how to navigate through the restaurants website.
As the user scrolls down the page they are met with a section the highlights the restaurant most sought out services. Hilltop Jamaican Restaurant is known for:
Jamaican Patties (especially beef).
Delivery services through Uber, Doordash, and Grubhub.
Catering events, large and small.
Then, you get a closer look at the delicious cuisine that is made fresh everyday at the restaurant. This section has a rotating carousel of the 4 most popular dishes giving users a visual experience of what they can expect when they arrive at the location.
Tom Ford Landing Page
I have a deep passion for fashion and Tom Ford is one of the companies I dream of working for one day. I came up with a design for Tom Ford that is not only aesthetically pleasing but functional and WCAG accessible for all users that access the webpage. A B2B website concept for a fashion company established in 2005.
Design Thinking
At the top of the webpage users are met with a navigation bar on the left side of the website. Since people naturally read from left to right the navigation bar will be easy to find and accessible.
Right next to the nav bar, users will find a look at the brands Winter collection (clothes and accessories). Humans are visual creatures so it’s best to include a visual guide of what the company has to offer.
Immediately below users will find the “Essentials” section that include the 3 most popular links users have used in the past. This section includes a large picture to give consumers an idea of what the category includes. There is a CTA button below each image for consumers to easily navigate to that particular category.
