ABOUT ME
Hello, my name is Fatimah Hylton, a former nursing student and gymnast who decided to take a leap of faith and transition into tech. Now I’m a UX Designer and Certified Scrum Master pursing a digital design career.
Before UX Design came into my life I literally lived and breathed Nursing School and gymnastics. After high school, I was granted the wonderful opportunity to continue my gymnastics career on the collegiate level in Seattle, Washington. That’s where I decided to live out my childhood dream of woking within the medical field and a passion in the field of nursing.
I spent many tough years pursing that career until one year my father tragically drowned in a jetskii accident right in front of me. In that moment I was faced with the tough decision of choosing between saving my fathers life or my own. The months that followed were as tough as one may imagine leaving me to reflect on my own life.
After much back and fourth I decided to finally make the difficult decision to move on from nursing school and pursue something I was more passionate about. Luckily after some soul searching and inner work I found UX Design and have been hooked ever since.
Outside of design, I’m a part-time content creator showcasing my vibrant personality and passions on multiple social media platforms. I love the concept of finding places to capture pictures for instagram in my personally styles outfits and showing my real personality in videos I meticulously edit each week. Working in creative spaces, whether it be professionally or personally, has always been dream of mine and I’m so glad I’ve made that a reality. Even though it took unfortunate events to authentically live life for me, I’m grateful.
