Hello, my name is Fatimah Hylton, a former nursing student and gymnast who decided to take a leap of faith and transition into tech. Now I’m a UX Designer and Certified Scrum Master pursuing a digital design career.

Before UX Design came into my life I lived and breathed Nursing School and gymnastics. After high school, I was granted the wonderful opportunity to continue my gymnastics career on the collegiate level in Seattle, Washington. That’s when I decided to live out my childhood dream of working within the medical field and a passion for the field of nursing.

I spent many tough years pursuing that career until one year my father tragically drowned in a jetskii accident right in front of me. In that moment I was faced with the tough decision of choosing between saving my father's life or my own. The months that followed were as tough as one may imagine leaving me to reflect on my own life.

After much back and forth I decided to finally make the difficult decision to move on
from nursing school and pursue something I was more passionate about. Luckily
after some soul-searching and inner work, I found UX Design and have been hooked ever since.

Outside of design, I’m a part-time content creator showcasing my vibrant personality and passions on multiple social media platforms. I love the concept of finding places to capture pictures for Instagram in my personal style outfits and showingmy real personality in videos I meticulously edit each week. Working in creative spaces, whether it be professionally or personally, has always been a dream of mine and I’m so glad I’ve made that a reality. Even though it took unfortunate events to authentically live life for me, I’m grateful.
